The bike is sold. Thanks for looking.

This bike is a 1983 Honda Sabre VF750S shaft drive. It was driven for 29,150 miles by its first owner who then made the mistake of getting married and so the bike sat in his garage until 1998, when it was sold to Austin Sports Cycles. I purchased the bike from Austin Sports Cycles and have driven it every day to and from work since then, as it has been my only form of transportation. It now has 42,650 miles on the odometer. On the seventh of September I purchased my first new motorcycle, a Suzuki SV650, and Mr. Sabre is looking for a new home.

She runs beautifully and features a 750cc engine in a V4 configuration with a shaft final drive. I repeat: this motorcycle has a maintenance-free shaft drive. The instrument cluster has a clock, temperature, and fuel gauge in addition to a tachometer and speedo. Dual disc brakes in the front with rear drum. The bike rests on a center stand or a side stand. The tires are Metzelers, (ME33/ME88) one is new and the other has many thousands of miles left on it. The seat is a new, gel super-cell unit by Sargent. The carburetors were completely rebuilt ($800) by Dallas Honda/Suzuki North two years ago.

Since I purchased the bike it hasn't sat still for longer than a week. Again I ride it every day to and from work. I have been riding exclusively for seven years and treat my machines better than I treat my body. I worked for two different bike shops as a motorcycle mechanic in college and have taken care of all the routine maintenance myself. I have also replaced dozens of parts (and have all the receipts) including

This bike is located near the corner of Mockingbird and Inwood in Dallas, TX. I would be happy to ride it out to anywhere in the vicinity. The inspection and registration are renewed as of August 2001.

This is certainly an older bike but the engine and transmission absolutely sing and almost everything else is a new! The price is $1350 and includes a variety of spare parts, a Clymer repair manual, the original toolkit, a nifty built-in cable lock, all the receipts, and a full tank of gas.
